Kohlu, Balochistan: Five terrorists affiliated with the Indian-sponsored group “Fitna al-Hindustan” were killed in an intelligence-based operation carried out by Pakistan’s security forces in Balochistan’s Kohlu district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Wednesday.
According to ISPR, the operation was conducted on December 25 after security forces received credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists linked to the Indian proxy outfit Fitna al-Hindustan in the area. Acting swiftly on the information, security forces launched a targeted intelligence-based operation aimed at neutralizing the threat posed by the militants.
During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ hideout. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, as a result of which five Indian-sponsored terrorists were killed. ISPR stated that the operation was executed with precision and professionalism, ensuring the elimination of militants who were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the region.
ISPR further revealed that a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosive material was recovered from the slain terrorists. The recovered items included firearms and explosives that were intended to be used in future acts of terrorism, highlighting the imminent danger these militants posed to peace and stability in the area.
According to the military’s media wing, the terrorists killed in the operation were involved in several acts of terrorism, including attacks on security forces and efforts to destabilize the region. Their elimination is seen as a major success in ongoing counterterrorism efforts in Balochistan, particularly in areas that have been targeted by foreign-sponsored militant networks.
ISPR added that a clearance operation is currently underway in the surrounding areas to ensure that no other Indian-backed terrorists remain in the vicinity. “The security forces of Pakistan, in coordination with law enforcement agencies, will continue to carry out counterterrorism operations with full resolve under the national vision of ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’,” ISPR said in its statement. The military emphasized that these operations aim to eradicate the menace of terrorism backed and sponsored by foreign elements, particularly those seeking to undermine Pakistan’s security and sovereignty.
The statement reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. ISPR stressed that the nation’s security forces remain committed to protecting the lives of citizens and ensuring lasting peace, especially in sensitive regions such as Balochistan, which has been targeted by hostile forces seeking to create instability.
