KARACHI: Pirabad Police arrested two suspects, including a woman allegedly involved in drug trafficking, during separate operations carried out as part of an ongoing crackdown against narcotics and banned substances on the directives of SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastoi.

According to police, SHO Pirabad Waseem Anees, accompanied by a police team, conducted a raid on an illegal gutka and mawa manufacturing unit after receiving confidential information. During the operation, the police arrested Salman, son of Haji Abdul Ghaffar, who was allegedly producing gutka and mawa inside a house in Sector E/4 within the limits of Pirabad Police Station.

Police said they recovered 50 packets of gutka and mawa, 5 kilograms of betel nut, tobacco, lime and other prohibited materials from the suspect’s possession. A case has been registered against the accused, and further investigation is underway.

In another operation based on intelligence information, Pirabad Police arrested a woman identified as Parveen alias Appi, wife of Aurangzeb, on allegations of drug trafficking.

According to police, the woman was listed among wanted drug suspects. Officers allegedly recovered 53 grams of crystal meth (Ice) packed in small sachets, along with cash, from her possession. A case has been registered under the relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is in progress.

Police further claimed that the arrested woman is a habitual offender who has previously been arrested and imprisoned in several narcotics-related cases. According to police records, she has been booked in Case No. 436/2021 under Section 9(i)(C) of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, Case No. 383/2021 under Section 9(i)(3)(C), and Case No. 199/2025 under the same provision.

The police stated that the anti-drug crackdown in the district is continuing under the directions of SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastoi. The allegations and recoveries mentioned are based on the police’s version, and the suspects’ responses were not immediately available.
