In a chilling case that has horrified India, a woman in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, confessed to killing her husband with the help of her lover and burying his body inside the kitchen of their home — where she continued to cook meals for days afterward. The shocking revelation surfaced during a police investigation into the disappearance of 35-year-old Mohammad Israil Akbar Ali Ansari, who had been missing for several weeks.
According to Indian media reports, Israil Ansari had married Rubi, a woman he deeply loved, in 2015. Israil, who worked as a construction mason, lived with his wife and two children in the Sarkhej area of Ahmedabad. Neighbors described the family as quiet and ordinary, until Israil suddenly vanished without a trace — prompting a police inquiry that led to one of the most disturbing discoveries in recent memory.
Police investigations revealed that Rubi had developed an extramarital affair with a man named Imran Waghila a few years after her marriage. The illicit relationship created severe tension in her marriage. Israil reportedly confronted Rubi multiple times after discovering her affair, leading to frequent arguments and growing hostility between the couple.
Investigators said that on the night of the murder, Rubi and Imran plotted to eliminate Israil permanently. According to Rubi’s confession, Imran visited her home under the pretext of a friendly meeting when Israil was asleep. The two then attacked him — reportedly hitting him with a heavy object before strangling him to death. After confirming that Israil was dead, the pair panicked and decided to dispose of the body inside the house itself to avoid suspicion.
What followed has shocked the entire community. Rubi admitted that they dug a pit inside the kitchen floor, buried Israil’s body there, and sealed the area with cement. Incredibly, she continued using the kitchen as usual — cooking food over the same spot where the body was hidden. For days, neighbors noticed a strange odor coming from the house, but Rubi dismissed their concerns by claiming it was due to drainage problems.
The gruesome truth came to light when local police, acting on a tip from suspicious relatives, interrogated Rubi and later her lover Imran. During questioning, Rubi broke down and confessed to the crime, revealing every detail — from the murder to the burial. Police then excavated the kitchen floor and recovered Israil’s decomposed remains, confirming the murder.
Authorities have since arrested both Rubi and Imran. A senior investigating officer described the case as one of the most disturbing examples of premeditated domestic homicide in recent years. “It was a brutal and calculated act. The accused woman showed no remorse initially and continued living in the same house where the victim’s body was buried,” the officer told reporters.
Forensic teams are now conducting DNA tests and examining whether any chemical substances were used to conceal the smell of decomposition. Police are also investigating if Rubi’s children were aware of their father’s murder or were kept deliberately away from the scene during and after the crime.
