The Second Interfaculty Quiz Competition 2025 at Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam concluded with a thrilling tie for the top position. After an intense contest, the Faculty of Crop Production and the Institute of Food Science and Technology secured equal scores, jointly claiming first place, while the Faculty of Crop Protection finished as the runner-up.
The event, held at the Dr. A.M. Shaikh Auditorium Hall, was organized jointly by the Entomological Society of Sindh and the Students–Teachers Engagement Program (STEP). The quiz featured a wide range of topics, including science, agriculture, and general knowledge, testing the intellectual agility and academic competence of the students. Seven teams representing five faculties participated, with both male and female students displaying remarkable confidence, quick thinking, and teamwork.
The competition created a vibrant and energetic atmosphere, reflecting the growing enthusiasm for academic and extracurricular excellence within the university. The tight contest between the top two teams kept the audience engaged till the very end, culminating in a shared victory that was met with loud applause.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor (Engr.) Dr. Altaf Ali Sial congratulated the participants and said that such healthy and competitive activities play a vital role in building students’ confidence and preparing them for higher academic and professional challenges. He emphasized that these intellectual events not only foster critical thinking and teamwork, but also encourage research-oriented mindsets among students.
He added, “Students of Sindh Agriculture University are making their mark at the national level, which is a matter of great pride for the entire institution. Encouraging a culture of learning, competition, and innovation will continue to be our top priority.”
In his remarks, Dr. Ijaz Ali Khonharo, Dean of the Faculty of Crop Production and Head of STEP, stated that the objective of holding such academic and extracurricular activities is to enhance students’ leadership qualities and strengthen teacher-student collaboration. He noted that STEP’s initiatives have helped bridge communication gaps and encouraged a vibrant academic culture within the campus.
At the end of the event, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Altaf Ali Sial, along with the Deans and organizers, distributed cash prizes, shields, and certificates to the winning and runner-up teams.
