Sukkur Police have arrested a suspect and recovered a large quantity of alcohol during an operation in Rohri.
According to a press release issued by Sukkur Police, the operation was carried out on the directions of SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan as part of a crackdown against individuals allegedly involved in illegal and socially harmful activities.
The SHO Rohri Police Station stopped a Proton car within the station’s jurisdiction and conducted a search. Police recovered 35 cartons containing 840 bottles of alcohol from the vehicle.
The suspect, identified as Ghulam Abbas Arain, was arrested at the scene.
Police said the suspect was allegedly transporting the consignment for distribution to different areas of the city. The planned supply was intercepted and stopped by the police.
A case has been registered against the arrested suspect under Sections 3/4 of the Prohibition Enforcement of Hadd Order (PEHO).
The case has been registered as FIR No. 260/2026 at Rohri Police Station.
SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan praised the police team for what he described as a successful operation and appreciated its efforts against the illegal supply of alcohol.
Sukkur Police said action against individuals involved in such activities would continue as part of the department’s efforts to maintain law and order and curb illegal activities in the district.
