KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast hot and humid weather in Karachi over the next 24 hours, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of light drizzle in some parts of the city.
According to the Met Office, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, warm, and humid throughout the day.
The department reported that the city’s minimum temperature was recorded at 28°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to range between 34°C and 36°C.
Humidity levels were recorded at 78 percent, contributing to muggy conditions and making the weather feel warmer than the actual temperature.
The PMD also said that sea breezes are blowing at a speed of 7 kilometres per hour, providing only limited relief from the prevailing heat and humidity.
In addition to the warm conditions, the weather department has forecast light drizzle at isolated locations across the city during the forecast period.
Residents have been advised to remain hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, and take necessary precautions, particularly children, the elderly, and people with underlying health conditions, as the combination of heat and high humidity can increase the risk of heat-related illnesses.
The Met Office continues to monitor weather conditions and will issue further updates if there are any significant changes to the forecast.
