Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday visited the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and inspected 21 new Rescue 1122 and fire brigade vehicles that arrived at the port after 17 years.
Talking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that all these new vehicles will reach Islamabad from Karachi within five days.
He said that the inclusion of new vehicles for Rescue 1122 and the fire brigade department is a good sign. He said that after 2009, this is the major increase in the number of vehicles for the fire brigade and Rescue 1122.
He thanked the Chinese government for providing these vehicles in a timely. The Interior Minister said that six vehicles will be available at six stations round-the-clock.
During the briefing, Mohsin Naqvi was informed that the new rescue vehicles have the capacity to reach a height of 256 feet.
The new vehicles include 4 trucks, 6 fire towers, and 5 fire tanks, and are equipped with the latest technology.
Chief Collector Customs Appraisement South, Collector Appraisement East, Collector Appraisement West, Chairman Capital Development Authority, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and a representative of the National Logistics Cell were present on the occasion.
