Sanghar (October 6, 2025): The District Manager of Qatar Charity, Sajad Khan, has stated that the organization is actively engaged in a series of welfare and development projects across various underdeveloped areas of Sanghar District. These initiatives are being implemented in close coordination with the district administration under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Ms. Sarah Javed.
According to Mr. Khan, Qatar Charity has launched multiple community welfare projects aimed at improving living conditions and addressing fundamental needs in remote areas such as Achhro Thar. Among the key initiatives are the installation of deep solar-powered water pumps in villages facing severe water scarcity, financial assistance to unemployed individuals for self-employment, and the construction of washrooms in mosques, girls’ schools, and hospitals.
He emphasized that Achhro Thar remains one of the most neglected and poverty-stricken regions of Sindh, where communities face acute challenges related to access to clean drinking water, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. To tackle these issues, Qatar Charity has taken significant steps to ensure sustainable access to potable water through solar and hand pumps, while also organizing medical camps and distributing essential supplies to local residents.
Mr. Khan further mentioned that Qatar Charity maintains a strong partnership with the district administration, especially in times of emergencies and natural disasters. During relief operations, the organization has worked hand in hand with government authorities to provide timely assistance, including the distribution of food, water, and other basic necessities to affected communities.
In addition to health and water projects, Qatar Charity has also extended support to people with disabilities across the district. Under a coordinated effort with the district administration, wheelchairs have been distributed among disabled individuals identified in need. These efforts aim to promote inclusivity and provide mobility support to those who face physical challenges in rural and remote areas.
The organization’s broader mission in Sanghar focuses on sustainable community uplift by addressing key human development sectors—education, health, sanitation, and livelihood generation. Local community members have expressed gratitude for Qatar Charity’s ongoing efforts, noting that access to clean water and improved sanitation facilities have significantly enhanced their quality of life.
Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Ms. Sarah Javed, has also lauded the contribution of Qatar Charity, highlighting its vital role in complementing the district administration’s social welfare agenda. She affirmed that continued collaboration between government institutions and charitable organizations like Qatar Charity is essential for achieving meaningful, long-term social development in neglected areas such as Achhro Thar.
Through these combined efforts, hundreds of families in Sanghar’s rural and desert regions are witnessing improvements in basic living standards, reflecting a positive shift toward a more sustainable and health-conscious future.
