ABU DHABI: The United States Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has announced the cancellation of consular appointments in response to the prevailing regional security situation.
According to U.S. officials, consular appointments scheduled at the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi from July 13 to July 15 have been canceled. Consular services in Dubai are also expected to be affected during this period.
The embassy said that non-emergency U.S. government personnel have been relocated from the UAE as a precautionary measure.
It further announced that routine U.S. visa services have been suspended until further notice, while emergency consular assistance—including passport-related and other urgent services—will be provided through email.
Applicants who had appointments during the affected dates have been advised not to visit the embassy, as officials will contact them directly to arrange new appointment dates.
According to the embassy, it is currently operating with limited consular services while monitoring the regional security environment.
The announcement comes amid heightened security concerns in the region, although the embassy did not provide further details about the specific circumstances behind the temporary suspension of routine consular operations.
