DADU: Leaders of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) from Dadu district were welcomed by party workers and supporters following their release from detention, as the party organized a reception in their honor.

The event was attended by district and tehsil office-bearers, party workers, and supporters, who greeted the released leaders with flower garlands and congratulated them on their release.

According to TLP leaders, the party had staged protests in Dadu, along with demonstrations across the country, following a call from the party’s central leadership over allegations that blasphemous sketches had been broadcast by Geo News. Protesters demanded a complete ban on the television channel.

The party further claimed that authorities launched a crackdown in several cities after the protests, during which Dadu district and tehsil leaders, including Allama Ghulam Mustafa Rizvi, Hafiz Rashid Hussain Rizvi, Saeed Anwar Sheikh, and Hizbullah Shahani, were taken into custody.

According to the party, the detained leaders were held at various police stations for three days before being released on personal surety bonds.

Following their release, TLP’s district and tehsil chapters organized a reception ceremony in Dadu, where the leaders were welcomed with flower garlands and congratulatory messages. Speakers at the event praised what they described as the leaders’ steadfastness.

During the gathering, participants raised religious slogans, while party leaders said they would continue their movement peacefully and within the framework of the law while adhering to their religious beliefs.

Among those attending the ceremony were Mukhtiar Ali Rizvi, Ali Haider Brahmani, Adil Nawaz Jamali, Abdul Rahim Lashari, and Hafiz Naeem, along with other district and tehsil office-bearers, party workers, and supporters, who expressed solidarity with the released leaders.

No official statement from the police or the provincial government regarding the arrests or the party’s claims was included in the information provided.
