ISLAMABAD: The number of Pakistani students pursuing higher education in Germany has increased by 14 percent over the past two years, according to Kai Rützberger, Head of Consular Affairs at the German Embassy in Islamabad.

Speaking exclusively to Geo News, Rützberger said Pakistani students continue to make a positive impression in Germany due to their academic abilities and ambition. He noted that many of them enroll in prestigious German universities and are focused on building successful professional careers.

He attributed the increase in student numbers to the growing interest among Pakistani youth in German higher education and the expanding opportunities available in the country.

Rützberger also highlighted that an increasing number of Pakistani students are learning the German language and developing strong language skills before beginning their studies, which helps them integrate more effectively into academic and social life in Germany.

Addressing the admissions process, he clarified that major German universities do not grant admissions through educational agents. Instead, students are advised to apply directly through official university procedures and rely on authentic sources of information.

Regarding visa applications, the German diplomat emphasized that all visa requirements, procedures, and eligibility criteria are available on the official website of the German Embassy. He encouraged prospective applicants to consult the embassy’s website for accurate and up-to-date information and to avoid relying on unauthorized intermediaries.

Germany remains one of the preferred destinations for Pakistani students seeking internationally recognized degrees, particularly in engineering, information technology, natural sciences, business, and research-oriented fields. The reported increase reflects the growing educational ties between Pakistan and Germany and the continued interest of Pakistani students in pursuing quality higher education abroad.
