Karachi: Police in Karachi’s Keamari District carried out two separate operations in the Madina Colony police station limits, arresting two suspects allegedly involved in the sale of gutka and mawa, officials said on Thursday.

In the first operation, police arrested a suspect identified as Yaqoob from 19-D Chowk for allegedly selling gutka and mawa. During the raid, officers recovered approximately five kilograms of gutka and mawa from his possession.

A case, FIR No. 186/26, has been registered against the suspect under the relevant legal provisions.

In a second operation, police arrested another suspect, Manzoor, using a search and tracking device. He had been declared a proclaimed absconder in a gutka-related case registered at Mochko Police Station.

According to police, Manzoor was wanted in FIR No. 329/24 under Sections 3, 4, and 8 of the applicable law.

Keamari Police said efforts are continuing to curb the illegal sale of gutka and other harmful substances across the district.
