An Iranian delegation led by Transport Minister Farzana Sadiq met with Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan during her visit to Pakistan,
Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal and Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar were also part of the Pakistani delegation.
Abdul Aleem Khan expressed happiness over the establishment of peace in the region in a conversation with the Iranian delegation.
Talking on the occasion, Abdul Aleem Khan said Iranian people appreciate the firm resolve and courage.
Pak-Iran’s road and rail links will be further strengthened in the future, Aleem Khan said. He said strengthening land links between the two countries will increase trade opportunities.
Various proposals were considered in the meeting, both delegations agreed to activate the Pak-Iran Joint Transport Committee.
Transport-related issues between Iran and Pakistan will be resolved immediately, Abdul Aleem Khan said.
Iranian Minister Farzana Sadiq expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s positive role in stopping the war and in the peace agreement.
We appreciate the strong support and cooperation of our Pakistani brothers, Farzana Sadiq said.
Iranian Transport Minister also raised the issue of clearance of trucks and containers between the two countries.
Senior officials from both sides participated and agreed on joint measures to resolve issues on Pak-Iran border.
