Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni met with his Pakistani counterpart Mohsin Naqvi on Wednesday and thanked him for giving a warm reception to Iran’s President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian and his delegation, which arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Both expressed satisfaction over reduction in tensions in the region following the signing of an MoU between Iran and the US.
Naqvi said that the MoU would not have been signed without the sincere efforts made by Momeni.
He, on the occasion, congratulated his Iranian counterpart on the joint declaration issued in Bürgenstock.
Naqvi said that Pakistan always had a desire for peace, and stability in the world, and that it would continue to make efforts for lasting peace in the Gulf.
Momeni is part of the Iranian delegation, which arrived in Islamabad on a one-day visit on Tuesday.
Other members of the delegation were Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Chief of the President’s Office Mr Mohsen Haji Mirzaei, Saeed Abbas Mousavi, Chief of Political Affairs of the President’s Office and Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghaddam.
