MQM Pakistan leader and MNA Dr Farooq Sattar has urged the government to bring solid local government system in the country, adding that soon MQM-P will bring Local Government Bill in the National Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Addressing the National Assembly, Farooq Sattar said that only holding Local Bodies election cannot resolve public issues and it was need of the hour that the representatives of local government should be given due powers.

He endorsed Bilawal Bhutto’s statement in which PPP chairman termed PML-N and MQM-P bilateral accord a lollipop.

Farooq Sattar said that in the past MQM used to have believe in verbal assurances but now the situation is entirely different.

He said that this local government system should be for 140 cities and a constitutional amendment should be made. Farooq Sattar said the 8-member committee formed by the Prime Minister met with political parties to convince them for an autonomous local government system.
