PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has questioned the proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment and called for elections in Punjab and Islamabad at the same time, opposing polls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) under the current circumstances, reported 24NewsHD TV on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament, Gohar said there was little point in discussing the 28th Amendment when its details had not yet been made public.

He said Maulana Fazlur Rehman had visited them and efforts were underway to convene an All Parties Conference (APC).

Gohar said he had heard that the Election Commission was preparing to hold elections and added that polls should also be conducted in Punjab and Islamabad, where elections had not taken place.

However, he described the situation in KP as unstable and questioned how elections could be held after an emergency and Governor’s Rule in the province.

“Under these circumstances, elections should not be held,” he said.
