ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has forecast that most parts of the country will experience hot and dry weather today, with extremely hot conditions likely in southern regions.
According to the Met Office, the highest temperatures recorded over the past 24 hours were in Turbat and Nawabshah, where the mercury reached 46°C.
Other recorded temperatures include 45°C in Sakrand; 44°C in Dadu, Lasbela, and Mohenjo-daro; 42°C in Hyderabad and Sukkur; 38°C in Multan and Sahiwal; 35°C in Karachi; 34°C in Lahore; 33°C in Islamabad and Peshawar; 30°C in Quetta and Muzaffarabad; and 23°C in Gilgit.
Weather experts have advised the public to take precautionary measures, avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, and stay well-hydrated, especially in southern areas where the intensity of heat is expected to be higher.
