KARACHI: The Sindh government has extended the enforcement of Section 144 for an additional month, continuing restrictions aimed at maintaining law and order across the province.
According to a notification issued by the Sindh Home Department, the ban covers protests, sit-ins, rallies, and the public display of weapons. The restrictions will remain in force throughout the province during this period.
The notification also states that wall chalking and public gatherings are prohibited under Section 144. However, licensed security guards will be allowed to carry weapons while on duty.
Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against violators. Police officials, including Station House Officers (SHOs), have been empowered to register cases under Section 188 for non-compliance with the imposed restrictions.
