Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has claimed that U.S. President Donald Trump has requested negotiations with Iran, adding that Tehran is currently reviewing the proposal.

In his statement, Araghchi said the U.S. move reflects its inability to achieve its objectives in the ongoing tensions with Iran. He emphasized that Iran is carefully evaluating all diplomatic options, while ensuring that its national interests remain the top priority.

He further noted that any decision regarding talks would be made after thorough consideration of the current regional and international situation.

It is worth mentioning that Russia has also previously offered to mediate between the United States and Iran. Russian President Vladimir Putin, after meeting with the Iranian foreign minister, stated that Moscow is ready to play a constructive role in ensuring stability and peace in the region.
