Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has said that the country is currently on the path to a diplomatic breakthrough and is actively working to create a constructive and result-oriented environment on the global stage.
Speaking in an interview with Geo News, the ambassador stated that the international community increasingly views Pakistan as a country capable of facilitating agreements and playing a key role in ensuring their implementation. He emphasized that Pakistan’s growing diplomatic relevance is not solely based on its foreign policy engagement but is also supported by its defense capabilities.
Rizwan Saeed Sheikh clarified that Pakistan does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and is instead focused on promoting stability through dialogue and cooperation. He highlighted that Pakistan has historically played an important role in the Middle East and will continue to contribute to peace efforts in the region.
He further noted that Pakistan is currently engaging with a wide range of global stakeholders, including the United States, China, Russia, Iran, Gulf countries, Turkey, Egypt, and the European Union. According to him, this broad-based engagement reflects the trust these countries place in Pakistan’s ability to act as a mediator.
The ambassador also spoke about Pakistan-US relations, describing them as a longstanding and resilient partnership spanning over eight decades. He acknowledged that the relationship has experienced ups and downs, including challenging phases, but stressed that both countries have consistently managed to overcome difficulties.
He added that the strength of bilateral ties lies in their ability to endure and evolve despite changing geopolitical dynamics. This resilience, he said, is a testament to the mutual interests and strategic importance of the relationship.
