Rainfall of varying intensity—ranging from light showers to heavy downpours—was recorded in Lahore and several other cities across Pakistan, bringing a welcome change in weather while also causing flooding in low-lying areas of Sindh.
In Lahore, different علاقوں experienced intermittent rain accompanied by thunder, making the weather pleasant after recent heat. Similar conditions were reported in multiple cities, including North Waziristan, Gujrat, Lodhran, Vehari, Burewala, Rahim Yar Khan, and Rajanpur, where rain and thunderstorms provided temporary relief from high temperatures.
However, the rainfall also led to disruptions in some regions. In Jahaniyan, three افراد were injured when a wall collapsed during the rain. Meanwhile, in Sindh, heavy rainfall in Qambar Shahdadkot, Sukkur, and Shikarpur resulted in water accumulation, leaving low-lying areas submerged.
In Ghotki and Ubauro, strong winds were followed by light rain, adding to the changing weather pattern across the province.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that most parts of the country will remain hot and dry today. However, there are chances of isolated rain showers in Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and کشمیر.
The recent rainfall highlights the typical transitional weather patterns seen during this time of year, where localized rain can bring both relief and challenges, particularly in areas with inadequate drainage systems.
