MIRPURKHAS (Report: Khudabakhsh Chohan): A resident of Mirpurkhas, Adam Khan, held a press conference and alleged that a contractor had withheld his excavator, failed to pay rent and was now threatening him and his family.
Adam Khan said he rented out his excavator to Hyderabad-based contractor Abdul Samad Chachar in 2018. According to him, the machine was used for excavation and earth-filling work at various locations.
He alleged that despite the passage of several years, the contractor neither paid the outstanding rent nor returned the excavator or settled the accounts, allegedly giving various excuses.
Adam Khan said he had trusted the contractor because he was a friend of his elder brother and therefore continued waiting for the matter to be resolved.
He further claimed that he recently learned that the excavator, which he said was his personal property and had complete documentation, was being transported from New Chhor to Hyderabad by the contractor’s associates. After he informed police, the excavator was stopped in Mirpurkhas and taken into custody.
Adam Khan alleged that after demanding his outstanding rent and payments, he and his family began receiving death threats.
He said he had submitted applications to the SHO Old and SSP Mirpurkhas regarding the matter.
Adam Khan appealed to the DIG and SSPs of Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad to provide him with protection, take notice of the alleged threats, initiate legal action and help recover the money he claims is owed to him.
