SALEH PAT (Reporter: Mir Asama Shambhani): A bridge over the Nara Canal near Saleh Pat collapsed with a loud bang when a dumper loaded with crushed stone was crossing it. The driver reportedly escaped unhurt in the incident.

The incident occurred at RD-71 bridge, where the heavy vehicle was passing over the structure when it suddenly gave way.

Residents of nearby villages, including Nazirabad, Noorabad, Tharri, Deenpur, Islamabad Takri and Larh, said the damaged bridge is the only route connecting them with Sukkur, Saleh Pat and Rohri, while children also use the same route to travel to school.

Residents expressed concern that the collapse has created serious difficulties for daily transportation and demanded immediate action from the authorities.

They appealed to MNA Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah and MPA Syed Owais Qadir Shah to arrange repair work on an emergency basis and restore the vital route as soon as possible.
