LAHORE: Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, a member of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) selection committee, has decided to step down from his position, according to sources close to the former captain.

Sources said Misbah has decided to leave the selection committee, although the reasons behind his decision and details regarding the formal submission of his resignation have not yet been disclosed.

According to the sources, Misbah has informed the PCB about his notice period, which will now begin. He is expected to leave the PCB after completing the required notice period.

The development comes amid growing uncertainty surrounding the Pakistan cricket setup following the national Test team’s consecutive defeats in two matches during the tour of England.

Misbah, who previously served as Pakistan’s Test captain and head coach, has been involved in selection-related matters as part of the PCB’s current selection structure.

The PCB has yet to issue an official statement regarding Misbah-ul-Haq’s reported decision to leave the selection committee.
