LARKANA, August 31, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Tariq Manzoor Chandio has directed officials to perform their duties responsibly and ensure that no child is missed during the upcoming polio vaccination campaign.
The campaign will be conducted across Larkana district from September 21 to 24, 2026.
Addressing a meeting at the Darbar Hall of his office, the deputy commissioner stressed the need for complete data, proper planning, adequate equipment and effective coordination among vaccination teams.
He directed officials to immediately resolve any logistical problems and ensure that there is no shortage of equipment during the campaign.
Focus on Newly Enrolled and Migrant Children
The DC instructed Education Department officials to provide complete enrollment details of newly admitted children so they can also receive polio drops.
He also directed authorities to ensure that private schools provide details of newly enrolled students for vaccination.
Special attention should be given to children arriving from other areas, while teams deployed at established transit points must ensure every eligible child receives polio drops.
Officials were also instructed to report any polio-related issue or case in the Katcha areas.
349,000 Children to Be Vaccinated
Officials briefed the meeting that approximately 349,000 children across Larkana district will be administered polio drops during the campaign.
A total of 102 vaccination teams have been formed to conduct door-to-door vaccination.
Medical officers, focal persons, elected representatives and health department teams assigned to each union council will also participate in the campaign.
District Health Officer Dr Shaukat Ali Abro, Dr Junaid Ahmed (PPHI), Dr Irfan (EPI focal person), Dr Aram (RNCHEI) and Dr Raoal Insaf attended the meeting and provided detailed briefings.
