Senior leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) and Member of the National Assembly, Farooq Sattar, has called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to review the decision regarding the removal of Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, urging that he be reinstated to his position.
In a statement, Farooq Sattar expressed concern over the reported decision to remove Kamran Tessori, emphasizing that such a move should be reconsidered in the interest of political stability and continuity. He appealed directly to the prime minister to revisit the decision and restore Tessori to the governorship, highlighting his role and contributions during his tenure.
Sattar also pointed out that the decision to change the governor of Sindh was made without taking MQM-P into confidence, which he described as a matter of concern for the party. He stressed that MQM-P has been a key stakeholder in Sindh’s political landscape and should have been consulted before any major decision regarding the province’s constitutional offices.
Meanwhile, another MQM-P leader, Amin Ul Haque, stated that the party would raise its تحفظات (reservations) in an upcoming meeting with the prime minister. He said MQM-P leadership intends to formally communicate its concerns and seek clarity on the decision-making process behind the governor’s removal.
Amin Ul Haque further added that the party would make efforts to ensure that the position of Governor Sindh continues to be held by MQM-P in the future. He underscored the importance of political representation and balance, particularly in a province like Sindh where multiple stakeholders are involved.
In his remarks, Amin Ul Haque also criticized the performance of the provincial government in Sindh, claiming that poor governance has led to delays in development projects. He suggested that administrative inefficiencies have negatively impacted public service delivery and infrastructure progress across the province.
On the issue of Kamran Tessori’s removal, Farooq Sattar reiterated that the decision sends an unfavorable message regarding the party’s role in the current political arrangement. He urged the federal government to maintain trust and coordination with its allies, warning that unilateral decisions could strain political relationships.
Kamran Tessori, who has been serving as the Governor of Sindh, has also previously hinted at underlying political dynamics behind his removal, though he refrained from naming specific individuals. His comments have added to the ongoing debate surrounding the decision and its implications.
The development comes amid evolving political alignments at the federal and provincial levels, where coalition dynamics often play a critical role in governance decisions. MQM-P, being an important ally in the federal setup, appears keen to assert its position and ensure its interests are safeguarded.
Political analysts suggest that such اختلافات (differences) between coalition partners, if not managed carefully, could impact policy coordination and governance. Therefore, the response of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to MQM-P’s concerns will be closely watched in the coming days.
As discussions continue, the possibility of negotiations or a compromise remains open. Whether the decision regarding Kamran Tessori will be reversed or adjusted depends largely on political consultations and the broader considerations of coalition stability.
In conclusion, Farooq Sattar’s appeal highlights growing concerns within MQM-P over its role and representation in key positions. The party’s leadership is expected to engage with the federal government to seek a resolution that aligns with its expectations while maintaining the overall balance within the ruling alliance.
