Esmail Khatib, Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, was reportedly killed in an Israeli attack, Iranian media confirmed.
Masoud Pezeshkian also verified the news of Khatib’s martyrdom following the strike. According to reports, the Israeli military had announced targeting the Iranian intelligence minister in operations conducted the previous night.
In addition to the attack on Khatib, recent strikes by the US and Israel targeted Iran, including the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. Iranian authorities stated that projectiles landed within the plant’s compound but caused no damage, and no staff members were injured.
Iran has reportedly informed the International Atomic Energy Agency about the incident. The development escalates existing tensions between Iran and Israel and raises concerns about security at Iran’s nuclear facilities.
