Istanbul: The first meeting of the committee established under the joint defence agreement between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye will be held in Istanbul tomorrow.
According to sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry, senior officials from all three countries will attend the meeting. Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar has also arrived in Istanbul to participate in the discussions.
According to a foreign news agency, senior officials from Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will gather in Istanbul on Monday for the inaugural committee meeting under the joint defence agreement signed earlier this month.
The meeting is expected to be attended by the foreign ministers and defence ministers of the three countries, as well as the chiefs of staff of their armed forces.
International security issues are expected to be at the top of the agenda. Discussions are likely to focus on strengthening defence capabilities, improving coordination among the armed forces and expanding cooperation in defence production, including joint manufacturing and development.
The meeting is being viewed as an important step toward implementing the trilateral defence agreement and deepening strategic and security cooperation among Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.
