- WASHINGTON: Fuel and food ingredient prices have increased in the United States amid the Iran war and higher tariffs imposed by the Trump administration, adding to concerns among consumers and farmers.According to US media reports, diesel prices in the country have reached their highest level since the outbreak of the Iran war. The US Department of Energy said the average weekly price of diesel increased by 20 cents per gallon, reaching $5.65 per gallon.Sources in the American Automobile Association said that if diesel prices rise by another 20 cents per gallon, they could reach their highest level since 2022.The increase in fuel prices is also creating difficulties for the agricultural sector.
