The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has issued the schedule for the election of its speaker and deputy speaker, with voting set to take place on August 25.
According to the schedule, nomination papers for both offices will be submitted between 10:00 am and 11:00 am on August 25.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be completed at 11:15 am, while the list of candidates will be published by 11:30 am.
Candidates will be allowed to withdraw their nomination papers until 11:45 am, and the final list will be issued at 12:00 noon.
The election for the speaker will be held during the Assembly session at 2:00 pm, while the election for the deputy speaker is scheduled for 3:00 pm at the Assembly Secretariat.
The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly session will be held on August 25 at 2:00 pm under the chairmanship of Speaker Chaudhry Latif Akbar.
