A resolution has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly seeking urgent measures to protect the health, life and fundamental rights of PTI founder Imran Khan and calling for implementation of the Supreme Court’s August 18 order regarding his medical treatment.

The resolution was moved by MPA Imtiaz Mahmood.

It demanded an immediate, complete and independent medical examination of Imran Khan and called for his transfer to Shifa International Hospital in accordance with the Supreme Court’s order.

The resolution also sought the inclusion of Dr Faisal Sultan and Dr Uzma Khan in Imran Khan’s medical examination and treatment.

It called for full implementation of the Supreme Court’s directions concerning his medical care and demanded that he be removed from prolonged isolation and deprivation of human contact.

The resolution further sought restoration of regular telephone contact between Imran Khan and his family, lawyers and sons.

It also demanded preservation of all CCTV footage, jail records, medical records and visitors’ records relating to the PTI founder.

The resolution called on the federal government and relevant institutions to submit a report to parliament within seven days on the measures taken.

It urged immediate action to protect Imran Khan’s life, health, dignity and fundamental rights.
