Awami Pakistan Party chief and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and former finance minister Miftah Ismail met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday to discuss the country’s political situation and challenges facing the public.
The leaders exchanged views on the prevailing political scenario, public issues and broader political and democratic matters.
During the meeting, they stressed the need to make contacts and consultations among political parties more effective in the current situation.
The discussion also covered the supremacy of the Constitution, the role of parliament, protection of democratic values and the need for political stability in the country.
