In Geneva, the second round of Iran-U.S. nuclear negotiations took place under the mediation of Oman.
Following indirect talks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi told the media that Iran and the United States have reached an understanding on the fundamental principles of a potential agreement.
He clarified that while a final deal is not expected immediately, practical steps have begun. Both sides will now work on drafting documents for the possible agreement and exchange them for review and feedback.
Araghchi noted that several issues still require detailed discussion. He emphasized that threats of military action from the U.S. should be halted immediately to facilitate a constructive negotiation environment.
Representing the U.S. delegation in the talks were Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, who engaged with the Iranian team on technical and political aspects of the potential agreement.
The statement indicates progress in the ongoing diplomacy aimed at reviving the Iran nuclear deal, with both sides showing willingness to negotiate while key issues remain under discussion.
