Islamabad: Pakistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to cooperate in various sectors, including mining and petroleum, maritime, customs, railways, transit trade, plant protection and veterinary services, artificial intelligence, and digital development, through the exchange of memorandums of understanding (MoUs).
During a ceremony for the signing of MoUs and agreements in different sectors, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan signed a joint declaration.
In addition to cooperation in these sectors, documents related to United Nations peacekeeping forces and prisoner exchanges were also exchanged between the two countries.
Earlier, a reception was arranged at the Prime Minister’s House in honor of President Tokayev. Upon arrival, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed the distinguished guest. The two leaders exchanged handshakes and cordial words.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of both countries, and a well-disciplined contingent presented a guard of honor. President Tokayev introduced his delegation to Prime Minister Sharif.
It is worth noting that President Tokayev arrived in Pakistan yesterday with his delegation on a two-day official visit.
