Sukkur (Danish Rajput): Like the rest of Pakistan, Sukkur marked February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day, with rallies and demonstrations held across various locations to express support for the Kashmiri people and their struggle for self-determination.
In Sub-Division One of Sukkur, the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Azir Pathan, accompanied by his entire staff, led a spirited demonstration to show solidarity with the Kashmiri community. Staff members raised flags and chanted slogans in support of Kashmir’s freedom and against Indian policies in the occupied region.
During the event, participants reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the Kashmiri cause. Slogans such as “Pakistan stands with Kashmir” and “Kashmir will become Pakistan” echoed throughout the demonstration, reflecting both national sentiment and local official support for the Kashmiri struggle.
Participation of Sub-Division One Staff
The demonstration included the full participation of Sub-Division One staff, including notable officials such as Muhammad Kafeel, Muhammad Shuja, Muhammad Sajid Arain, and Muhammad Arshad, among others. All participants expressed their strong backing of the Kashmiri people’s fight for independence and emphasized that the government and citizens of Pakistan remain committed to supporting the Kashmiri cause at every level.
SDO Azir Pathan highlighted the importance of public officials actively showing solidarity with oppressed communities. “As representatives of the state, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Kashmir,” he said. “Their struggle for freedom is not just a regional issue—it reflects the values of justice and human rights that Pakistan upholds.”
Nationwide Observance
Across Pakistan, Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed annually on February 5, with rallies, seminars, and awareness campaigns organized in major cities. The day serves as a reminder of Pakistan’s commitment to the Kashmiri people and their right to self-determination, as endorsed by United Nations resolutions.
In Sukkur, the participation of government officials alongside citizens highlighted a cohesive expression of national unity and empathy for the Kashmiri struggle. Officials emphasized that such events reinforce the moral and diplomatic support Pakistan extends to the people of occupied Kashmir.
Reaffirming Support for Kashmir
The event in Sukkur concluded with a renewed commitment from all participants to continue supporting Kashmiris in their quest for freedom. Officials and staff vowed to keep raising awareness, participating in future events, and supporting initiatives that highlight the Kashmiri cause at both national and international forums.
By involving government staff directly in public demonstrations, Sub-Division One sent a clear message that support for Kashmir is institutional as well as popular, reinforcing the idea that Pakistan as a nation stands united with the Kashmiri people.
The demonstration also served as a platform for staff to educate the community about the ongoing human rights challenges in occupied Kashmir, ensuring that the local population remains informed and engaged in solidarity efforts.
