Quetta: Pakistan’s security forces have killed four terrorists belonging to the Indian-backed group “Fitna al-Hindustan” during a successful intelligence-based operation in Qalat district of Balochistan, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR said the operation was carried out on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. During the operation, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists, resulting in the killing of four militants linked to the Indian proxy network. A cache of weapons and ammunition was also recovered from the terrorists, indicating their involvement in planned acts of terrorism.
The military’s media wing stated that the eliminated terrorists were actively involved in terrorist activities targeting security forces and innocent civilians, and their neutralization marks another significant step towards restoring peace and stability in Balochistan. The ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and foil attempts by hostile elements to destabilize the country.
Following the operation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for their professionalism and bravery. In his statement, the prime minister said the nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces in the fight against terrorism. He added that the successful operation in Qalat reflects the strong resolve of Pakistan’s security institutions to counter foreign-sponsored terrorism.
“The entire nation salutes the courage and sacrifices of our security forces. We will continue to defeat the nefarious designs of enemies who are using proxies to undermine Pakistan’s peace and sovereignty,” the prime minister said.
Meanwhile, Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori also lauded the security forces for the successful action against terrorists. He stated that the campaign “Azm-e-Istehkam” aimed at eradicating terrorism from the country will continue with full force. According to him, Pakistan will not allow any terrorist organization, whether local or foreign-sponsored, to operate on its soil.
Security analysts say the operation in Qalat is part of a broader counterterrorism strategy being pursued across sensitive areas of Balochistan, where militant groups backed by hostile intelligence agencies have attempted to create unrest. Over the past few years, Pakistan has repeatedly raised concerns at international forums about the use of terrorist proxies by India to destabilize Balochistan and other regions.
Balochistan has witnessed several intelligence-based operations in recent months, leading to the arrest or killing of militants involved in attacks on security forces, development projects, and civilians. Officials say these operations are carefully planned to minimize collateral damage and protect local populations.
Local sources in Qalat confirmed that security forces cordoned off the area following the operation to conduct a search and clearance process, ensuring that no other militants were hiding nearby. Normalcy was gradually restored after the completion of the operation.
The recovery of arms and ammunition from the terrorists further strengthened claims that the group was preparing for major sabotage activities. Officials have not yet disclosed details about the type of weapons seized, but sources say the cache included automatic weapons and explosives.
Pakistan’s civil and military leadership has repeatedly emphasized that terrorism remains a national challenge and requires unity, vigilance, and sustained operations. The government has also reaffirmed its commitment to expose and counter external involvement in terrorist activities within Pakistan.
The latest operation in Qalat has been widely seen as a message to terrorist networks and their facilitators that Pakistan’s security forces remain alert and capable of responding decisively to threats. Authorities say such actions will continue until terrorism is completely eliminated from the country.
As the nation continues its fight against militancy, officials stress that peace and development in Balochistan remain top priorities, and security operations will go hand in hand with socio-economic development to address long-term challenges in the region.
