ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has amended the Solar Regulations 2026, allowing electricity distribution companies to directly approve solar connections up to 25 kilowatts (kW).
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, consumers installing solar systems with a capacity of up to 25kW will no longer require separate approval from the regulatory authority.
The notification stated that the relevant power distribution company has now been authorized to grant direct approval for such solar installations.
The move is aimed at simplifying the approval process for small-scale solar consumers and making it easier for households and businesses to adopt renewable energy solutions.
