HYDERABAD (Mahboob Hussain Buzdar): A dignified ceremony was held at a local banquet hall in connection with Police Martyrs Day to pay tribute to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives while performing their duties for maintaining peace, eliminating crime, and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Divisional Commissioner Hyderabad Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi. The event was attended by senior officers of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and police, families of police martyrs, police personnel who survived injuries during duty, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Zain-ul-Abideen Memon, officials of the district administration, business community representatives, social figures, and journalists.
Addressing the ceremony, Commissioner Hyderabad Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi said that police martyrs are the true heroes of the nation who laid down their lives for peace, rule of law, and protection of citizens. He said their sacrifices will always remain a source of inspiration and their services can never be forgotten.
DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razzaq Khan Dharejo said that police martyrs are the pride, asset, and a bright chapter of the department’s history. He stated that the dignity of the police uniform is built on the sacred blood of martyrs and that the police force considers every martyr’s family as its own.
He reaffirmed that the mission of the martyrs would continue under all circumstances and that the welfare of their families would remain a top priority. He added that the police would continue performing their duties with the same spirit of dedication and sacrifice for the protection of citizens.
After his address, DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razzaq Khan Dharejo met the families of police martyrs individually, inquired about their well-being, and spent time with them. He assured them that Sindh Police stands with them in every difficult moment.
He said, “You are not alone; Sindh Police is with you at every moment. The martyrs are our pride and an everlasting honor.” He further emphasized that caring for the heirs of martyrs and addressing their needs is a permanent responsibility of Sindh Police.
During the ceremony, commemorative shields were presented to police officers and personnel who displayed exceptional courage while fighting criminals and protecting public safety despite risking their lives. Among those honored were SDPO Cantt Madam Paras Bakhrani, SDPO Baldia Zahoor Ahmed Soomro, and other brave officers and personnel.
A special documentary highlighting the sacrifices, courage, and professional services of police martyrs and injured police personnel was also presented during the event.
The welcome address was delivered by SSP Badin Qamar Raza Jiskani, who welcomed the guests and paid tribute to the sacrifices of police martyrs. The ceremony was hosted by SSP Sujawal Madam Aleena Rajpar and SDPO Cantt Madam Paras Bakhrani.
Earlier, DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razzaq Khan Dharejo and Pakistan Army officers visited the Martyrs’ Memorial at Police Headquarters Hyderabad, offered Fateha for the departed souls of martyrs, and laid floral wreaths.
On the occasion, they reiterated that the sacrifices of police martyrs would always be remembered, their mission would be carried forward at all costs, and the welfare of their families would remain a priority for the police force.
