KARACHI: A key meeting regarding security arrangements for Rabi-ul-Awwal was held under the chairmanship of DIG South Zone Asad Raza in Karachi.
The meeting was attended by senior police and Rangers officials, religious scholars, organizers of processions and Milad gatherings, as well as representatives of relevant departments.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on security arrangements, traffic management, parking facilities, and other administrative matters related to the central procession, other processions, and Milad gatherings.
Religious scholars and organizers presented their concerns, suggestions, and recommendations during the session. DIG South Zone Asad Raza stated that ensuring peaceful religious gatherings and protecting the lives and property of citizens during Rabi-ul-Awwal remain the top priorities of the police.
He said that foolproof security arrangements would be ensured through effective coordination and cooperation among all relevant institutions, religious scholars, and event organizers.
The meeting decided to establish a special WhatsApp coordination group comprising police officials, organizers, and focal persons. The group will facilitate the sharing of security updates, traffic information, emergency alerts, and quick response to complaints.
Instructions were issued to finalize security plans for all processions and Milad gatherings within the required timeframe. Authorities were also directed to maintain special monitoring of sensitive locations and ensure continuous coordination with the Command and Control Centre and organizers.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order, promoting religious tolerance, and strengthening inter-sect harmony during Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The meeting concluded with special prayers for the stability and prosperity of Pakistan and for the martyrs of the police department.
