Islamabad: On the occasion of Kashmir Exploitation Day, Pakistan’s Armed Forces have reaffirmed their continued support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and their stated struggle for the right to self-determination.

In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), it was stated that Field Marshal Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff, and Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff, expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir on the occasion.

According to ISPR, the Armed Forces reiterated their solidarity with the people of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting what they described as the Kashmiri people’s legitimate pursuit of their right to self-determination.

The statement said that the situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, including what it described as security restrictions, human rights concerns, and demographic changes, remains a matter of serious concern.

ISPR stated that statements and actions contributing to tensions in the region could increase instability, adding that lasting peace and stability in South Asia depend on a peaceful and just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The statement added that the people of Pakistan and the Armed Forces pay tribute to those who lost their lives in Jammu and Kashmir and reaffirm their commitment to standing with the Kashmiri people.
