In the limits of various police stations of Sukkur—especially within the jurisdiction of New Pind Police Station, including Bhosa Line, Kori Hotel, Amanullah Chowk, Pathan Colony, Agha Badruddin Colony, New Pind Main Chowk, Darzi Mohalla, Shikarpur Phatak, Micro, as well as different areas under A-Section Police Station such as Tanga Stand, Shamsabad and other places—open gambling (Akra Parchi/Jua) has started operating openly due to police silence.

The gambling and Akra Parchi dealers reportedly include Asghar Mirani (Kori Hotel), Majid Mehr (Agha Badruddin Colony), Ameer Pathan (Pathan Colony), Dawood Pathan (Pathan Colony), Khalid Mehr (Agha Badruddin Colony), Saddam Khoso (Agha Badruddin Colony), Hakim Shar (Bhosa Line), Yaro Gudani (New Pind Main Chowk), Shahid Jageerani (New Pind Main Chowk), Ashiq Channa (New Pind Main Chowk), Mehdi Khoso (Amanullah Chowk), Rashid Ghanghro (Darzi Mohalla), Taj Mangrio (wholesaler, Shikarpur Phatak), Farhan Khoso (Micro), Rafiq Brohi (Micro), Salahuddin Afghan (near Center Back side, A-Section Police Station), and others.

As a result of this illegal gambling business operating in the limits of New Pind and A-Section police stations, many young people have lost their hard-earned savings. Along with youths, underage children have also begun to get involved in these social evils, which raises fears of an increase in lawlessness in the city.

Citizens and social circles are deeply concerned over the open sale of gambling, Akra Parchi, Raitmo games, gutka, pan parag, and other harmful substances in the city. In this regard, the citizens of Sukkur and political and social groups have demanded that the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Interior Minister, the IG Sindh, DIG Sukkur, SSP Sukkur, and ASP Sukkur take notice of the matter and put an end to such illegal and immoral businesses in the city.
