HYDERABAD The Executive Committee of the Pakistan Senior Citizens Association Hyderabad organized a special birthday celebration in honour of Manzoor Kalhoro, the association’s Information Secretary, at its central office in Wahdat Colony on August 8.

The event was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere and was attended by members of the Executive Committee, including both men and women, as well as other members of the association. The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, performed by Aftab Siddiqui.

Following the recitation, members and participants extended heartfelt birthday wishes to Manzoor Kalhoro and expressed their appreciation for his literary and organizational contributions.

The highlight of the gathering was the cutting of the birthday cake. After the cake-cutting ceremony, members presented Kalhoro with traditional Sindhi gifts, including ajraks, lungis, Sindhi caps and perfumes. The gifts were presented as a gesture of love, respect and friendship.

President Darya Khan Baloch thanked all the members and guests for attending the celebration and making the occasion memorable. He appreciated the efforts of the participants in creating a pleasant and friendly atmosphere and congratulated Manzoor Kalhoro on his birthday.

A number of senior members, writers, poets, social figures and association members attended the event. Those present included senior member Abdul Hakeem Dayo, Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Nizakat Ali Fazlani, Bashir Khan Jatoi, Doda Khan, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Nazir Ahmed Khebrai Memon, renowned poet Ashiq Halai, writer and publisher Nazir Naz, Apa Rashida Qureshi, Kazbano Dars, Nilofer Bhutto, Rehana Agha, Dr Shabnam, Muhammad Khalid Baloch, Aftab Siddiqui, Muhammad Anwar Soomro, Khalid Memon, Gul Hassan Khan Jatoi, Faqir Irshad Samoon, Ghulam Sarwar Sahar and several other members.

The participation of such a large number of members added warmth and colour to what was otherwise a simple birthday gathering. Participants exchanged greetings and shared memories in an atmosphere characterized by affection, respect and camaraderie.

Poet Ashiq Halai presented some of his latest poetry during the event, receiving appreciation from the audience. His poetry added a literary dimension to the celebration and further enhanced the cultural atmosphere of the gathering.

A Sufi music session was also arranged by Bashir Khan Jatoi. The soulful performance provided an entertaining and culturally rich segment of the programme, with participants enjoying the traditional music and poetry.

A special lunch was arranged for the participants by Madam Salma Qadri, who made an additional contribution to the event. Members expressed their appreciation for the arrangement and the hospitality extended to everyone attending the gathering.

The celebration continued in a relaxed and friendly environment, with participants exchanging views and enjoying each other’s company. The event also provided an opportunity for senior citizens, writers, poets and other members of the association to strengthen their social and cultural bonds.

The organizers said that such gatherings are valuable not only for celebrating personal occasions but also for promoting friendship, respect, cultural traditions and a sense of community among senior citizens and members of society.

The birthday celebration concluded in the evening in an atmosphere filled with affection, goodwill and fond memories. Participants expressed their best wishes for Manzoor Kalhoro and hoped that he would continue his literary, social and organizational contributions in the years ahead.
