Quetta: The Balochistan government has decided to investigate the coal mine accident in Sorange, a suburban area of Quetta, through three separate inquiry mechanisms.
The investigation process will include a Court of Inquiry, a departmental inquiry, and a review by the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team. Officials said that reports from all three inquiries will be submitted within 15 days to one month.
The decision follows a tragic gas explosion inside the coal mine that claimed 34 lives.
Rescue operations at the site have been completed, with authorities recovering the bodies of all miners affected by the incident.
Mining experts have emphasized that inquiry reports alone will not be enough to prevent future tragedies. They called for strict action against those responsible and urged the government to ensure proper safety measures, improved monitoring, and better working conditions for mine workers.
