Karachi: Several suspects allegedly involved in the aerial firing incident during a clash between two groups at the temporary centre of MQM Pakistan in Bahadurabad have been arrested, according to police sources.
Two days after the incident, a formal case has still not been registered. Police officials said that no faction of MQM Pakistan has contacted them so far for registration of the case. They added that the case would be registered immediately once a party representative approaches the police. If no one comes forward, the case will be registered on behalf of the state.
Police sources said that the draft of the case has been prepared and it will be registered after approval from senior police officials. The case is expected to be filed today, following which the arrests of the detained suspects are likely to be officially disclosed.
According to police sources, several individuals allegedly involved in the clash and firing incident at MQM Pakistan’s temporary centre have been arrested during raids. Sources said that some important names are also included among those taken into custody.
Further investigation into the incident is underway.
