Israel has revoked the diplomatic immunity of the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA).
According to a news agency, the Israeli parliament has approved legislation ending the diplomatic immunity granted to UNRWA.
The news agency reported that under the new law, legal proceedings can be initiated against UNRWA in Israeli courts, and Israeli authorities will also be able to seize two UNRWA offices in occupied East Jerusalem.
It further stated that the law bars Israeli companies from providing water, electricity, and financial services to UNRWA institutions.
On this occasion, UNRWA said that Israel is attempting to discredit the UN agency, which provides education and healthcare to millions of Palestinians across the Middle East.
It is worth noting that Israel imposed a ban on UNRWA last year.
