Processions are being held across Pakistan today to mark the 40th day (Arbaeen) after the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions.
In Karachi, the main procession starts from Nishtar Park. Many roads leading to the route have been closed with containers. M.A. Jinnah Road is closed to traffic. Vehicles from Shahrah-e-Quaideen, Hassan Square, Nazimabad, Shahrah-e-Faisal, and Saddar are being diverted to alternative routes.
In Islamabad, the main Arbaeen procession ended at Imambargah Asna Ashari, G-6.
In Peshawar, the procession began from Imambargah Hussainia Hall, Saddar.
In Lahore, the main procession starts from Haveli Alif Shah inside Delhi Gate and ends at Karbala Gamay Shah.
In Quetta, mobile phone service is suspended today in Qaidabad, Gawalmandi, and Brewery areas due to security arrangements.
In Hyderabad, Section 144 has been imposed. Double riding on motorcycles is banned in Hyderabad, Matiari, Dadu, Sujawal, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, and Jherruk.
Authorities have made these traffic and security arrangements to help ensure peaceful Arbaeen processions across the country.
