KABUL: Former Afghan parliamentarian Baktash Siawash has predicted the eventual collapse of the Taliban regime, saying its policies have exposed its true nature to the world.

In an interview with Afghanistan International, Siawash said the Afghan Taliban have “no connection with Islam” and are instead damaging the religion’s image through their actions.

He argued that the Taliban’s objective is to portray Islam as an oppressive faith that stands against women, education, art, and humanity.

Siawash added that the Taliban government’s repressive policies have made its reality increasingly clear to the international community, expressing the view that the current regime will not endure for long.
