Khairpur: Forty days after an armed robbery targeting journalist Imran Ali Odho, General Secretary of Press Club Piryaloi, police have yet to arrest the suspects or recover the stolen property, prompting concern among journalists and media organizations.

According to details, Imran Ali Odho was traveling from Piryaloi to Sukkur when three unidentified armed men intercepted him near Tania Bridge within the limits of Babarloi Police Station. At gunpoint, the assailants allegedly snatched his 2026 model Honda CD-125 motorcycle, mobile phone, and cash before fleeing the scene.

The incident was immediately reported to Babarloi Police Station, where SHO Abdul Jabbar Memon reportedly assured the victim that the accused would be arrested and the stolen belongings recovered within five days. However, despite the passage of 40 days, no arrests have been made and the stolen items have not been recovered.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the lack of progress, the Khairpur Awami Press Club, Press Club Piryaloi, and several journalist organizations have called on the SSP Khairpur and the district administration to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects and the recovery of the stolen property so that justice can be provided to the affected journalist.

The journalist bodies have also warned that if prompt action is not taken, they will stage a protest demonstration outside Babarloi Police Station. They stated that responsibility for any such protest would lie with the concerned police authorities and the district administration.
