Washington: A senior official at the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has reportedly asked military personnel and intelligence analysts to submit “creative and unconventional” proposals for increasing pressure on Iran.

According to U.S. media reports, an officer from CENTCOM’s intelligence branch sent an email on Wednesday to a large group of military analysts, stating that the command was looking for new, innovative, and unconventional ways to pressure and penalize Iran.

The reports describe the request as an unusual step, with some military officials suggesting it may reflect the limited range of options available to the U.S. administration in its efforts to persuade Iran to agree to its proposed terms in future negotiations.

CENTCOM spokesperson Captain Timothy Hawkins responded by saying that the command has a long history of encouraging creative thinking and innovative approaches in military planning and operations.

According to the reports, the email was sent before President Donald Trump publicly warned of possible new military strikes against Iran.

The reported request has drawn attention because it sought ideas from a broad group of analysts, a practice that U.S. media characterized as uncommon. However, no official indication has been given that any specific proposal has been adopted or implemented.
