Qalat: Pakistan’s security forces have killed eight terrorists belonging to the group referred to as “Fitna-al-Hindustan” during a successful intelligence-based operation in Qalat, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to a statement issued by the military’s media wing, the operation was launched after security agencies received credible intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the area. Acting on the information, security forces carried out a targeted intelligence-based operation, during which a fierce exchange of fire took place between the troops and the terrorists.
ISPR stated that as a result of the effective and well-coordinated action by the security forces, eight terrorists were neutralized. The forces also recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from the terrorists, indicating their involvement in ongoing and planned acts of violence in the region.
The military said the terrorists were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area, posing a serious threat to peace, stability, and the safety of innocent civilians. Their elimination, the statement added, marks an important step in disrupting terrorist networks operating with foreign backing.
According to ISPR, the terrorists belonged to “Fitna-al-Hindustan,” a group described by Pakistani authorities as being sponsored and supported by hostile foreign elements, particularly India. The statement reiterated that such groups aim to destabilize Pakistan by carrying out acts of terror, targeting security forces, and spreading fear among the local population.
ISPR further said that the hideout of the terrorists was effectively targeted during the operation, preventing them from escaping and ensuring that their operational capability was completely dismantled. The professionalism, courage, and timely response of the security forces were highlighted as key factors behind the success of the operation.
Following the encounter, security forces launched a clearance operation in the surrounding area to eliminate any remaining terrorists and ensure that no other Indian-backed elements are hiding nearby. ISPR confirmed that the clearance operation is ongoing and will continue until the area is fully secured.
The military emphasized that security forces, in close coordination with law enforcement agencies, remain determined to continue counter-terrorism operations across the country. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to eradicate the menace of terrorism and prevent foreign-sponsored groups from undermining Pakistan’s security.
ISPR said that Pakistan’s armed forces and law enforcement agencies are committed to completely eliminating the scourge of terrorism that is fueled by external sponsorship and facilitation. The statement stressed that such elements will not be allowed to disrupt peace or challenge the writ of the state.
In recent months, security forces have intensified intelligence-based operations in various parts of the country, particularly in regions vulnerable to militant infiltration. These operations aim to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, disrupt financing and logistics networks, and prevent attacks on civilians and security personnel.
The military’s media wing noted that the sacrifices and continuous efforts of Pakistan’s security forces are central to maintaining internal security and protecting national sovereignty. The forces, it said, are fully prepared to respond to any threat and will continue to act with resolve and professionalism.
Local sources said the operation brought a sense of relief to residents of the area, who have faced security challenges due to militant activity in the past. The successful action by the security forces was seen as a positive step toward restoring lasting peace and stability in the region.
ISPR concluded its statement by reaffirming that the fight against terrorism will continue until the complete elimination of all foreign-sponsored and facilitated terrorist groups. The armed forces and law enforcement agencies, the statement said, remain united in their mission to safeguard the nation and protect the lives of its citizens.
