KARACHI: Pakistan Railways Police have recovered approximately 32 tons of allegedly stolen railway material, including railway tracks worth millions of rupees, during an operation in Karachi.
According to Railways Police, the operation was carried out in Orangi Town, where officers seized a large quantity of railway property believed to have been stolen from the national rail network.
Police said the recovered material included railway tracks and other railway equipment, with the total value estimated to be in the millions of rupees.
During the raid, four suspects were arrested. Police also recovered equipment allegedly used to cut railway tracks from their possession.
Authorities have registered cases against the suspects, and further investigations are underway to determine the source of the recovered material and identify any additional individuals involved in the alleged theft network.
Inspector General of Pakistan Railways Police said the department would further intensify its crackdown against those involved in stealing railway material and damaging national assets.
He added that operations would continue across the country to protect railway infrastructure and prevent losses to public property.
The allegations against the arrested individuals remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.
